Ratnagiri speciality coffee twin Pack

Ratnagiri speciality coffee twin Pack

2 x 120g tins. One of each coffee type. Whole bean.

This gift box highlights two exceptional speciality coffees from the Ratnagiri Estate.

Ratnagiri means “Pearl Mountain”, a name inspired by the silver oak trees that form a dense canopy over the farm. Established in 1920, the farm is now owned and run by Ashok Patre, continuing a family tradition passed from his grandfather to his father and then to him.

One is a honey-processed lot comes from SLN 9 coffee grown at 4,450 feet in the Line Patte block of the farm. The cherries were harvested at 25.9° Brix and sorted to remove floaters. Half were then fermented in bio-fermenters for 24 hours in an anaerobic environment.

The other is a natural lot comes from Chandragiri coffee grown at 4,100 feet in the farm’s Godown Patte block. The cherries were picked at 25.9° Brix, sorted to remove floaters, then placed in bio-fermenters with lab cultures and lactic acid bacteria. They fermented for 54 hours in a nitrogen-rich environment before being spread on raised beds.

The coffee was dried slowly, with regular stirring, over 27 days.
