80% of the MAYA coffee comes from the Qawale project.
Renardo and Jacqueline Ovalle, are dedicated producers who are deeply engaged with their farm teams. Together, together with Belco they have created the Qawale project—a regional coffee initiative designed to bring real impact to the Huehuetenango coffee community.
Qawale provides agronomic, technical, logistical, and above all, financial support to local growers. It is built on three key pillars:
-
Fairer remuneration based on quality
-
Training and knowledge-sharing for producers
-
A streamlined logistics system for coffee collection
Today, around 400 farms participate in the project, many of which have been able to make coffee their sole source of income—thanks in large part to the added value of the quality premium.

Beautifully roasted to perfection , great taste coffee.Loved it.
when the box arrived it was nicely packed and I loved the fact there was no plastic at all! Just cardboard and aluminium to recycle. The wood roasted beans were delicious after I managed to dial in the correct grind size for my Bambino expresso machine . I tasted lots of choc and a hint of fruit
Bought for a 10 year anniversary gift
really smooth mellow morning coffee in my opinion, will definitely be purchasing again!!
A great gift for any coffee lover or ideal if you're lookingto try new coffees. A really tasty, easy-to-enjoy coffee. It’s sweet, a little fruity, and smooth from start to finish. The flavours are bright without being too strong, and it has a nice clean aftertaste that makes you want another sip. A solid choice if you like coffee with a bit of character but nothing too wild.
