Ratnagiri Chandragiri Natural

Ratnagiri Chandragiri Natural

Ratnagiri

Ratnagiri means “Pearl Mountain”, a name inspired by the silver oak trees that form a dense canopy over the farm. Established in 1920, the farm is now owned and run by Ashok Patre, continuing a family tradition passed from his grandfather to his father and then to him.

Processing

This natural lot comes from Chandragiri coffee grown at 4,100 feet in the farm’s Godown Patte block. The cherries were picked at 25.9° Brix, sorted to remove floaters, then placed in bio-fermenters with lab cultures and lactic acid bacteria. They fermented for 54 hours in a nitrogen-rich environment before being spread on raised beds.

The coffee was dried slowly, with regular stirring, over 27 days.
